Cover for pregnancy issues

My wife and daughter are planning a european trip this year, 4 weeks after the arrival of my expectant daughters child.
What happens if she needs an emergency ceaserean to deliver the child and cannot travel that soon after? Would all travel expenses for my wife and daughter be covered if a cancellation was required for this or related pregnancy issues?

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

There is coverage under our policy for Cancellation Costs: – if you have to cancel any pre-paid transport or accommodation arrangements due to any unforeseen or unforeseeable circumstances outside of your control.

This means, if your wife had an unforeseen emergency caesarean, and the doctor deemed her unfit to travel on her expected date, you will be able to submit a claim under out Cancellation Costs benefit.

When submitting a claim for this particular event, we will ask you to provide a letter from her doctor advising she was unfit to travel on her expected date.

We recommend that all travellers have a read through our Product Disclosure Statement to ensure this cover is right for them. Please click here to view the PDS.

I hope this has helped. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.
